Bob Griffith
 
As a child, Bob took lessons
on the trumpet and saxophone and in the
50's formed his own Rock 'n
Roll band. Bob has also played Trombone, Tuba, French
Horn, and Keyboards. His main instrument is the Trumpet. Listen

Bob founded and runs a
web site for engineers.
In 1965 he started his engineering career at Fairchild Semi-Conductor.
Five years later, Bob and his family moved to Malaysia, where he helped
with the building and operation of the first electronic factory on the
island of Penang. After returning to the
United States, he established hybrid facilities for Farinon, Western
Microwave, and Raytheon. In the 80's, Bob was engineering
manager for Honeywell Space-Com. Then in 1987, he and
his wife Gail embarked on a 3 1/2-year sabbatical. They
traveled in a motor home throughout the U.S., Canada and Mexico before
they settled back again in San Jose. Bob worked as a
Senior Design Engineer first at Omni Microwave Networks and since 1993
at Digital Microwave Corporation. He specializes in microwave and
millimeter wave circuit and subsystem design.
Patents: While at Honeywell Space-Com, he developed the millimeter
wave S-Parameter test set and jointly received a patent on "An
Adjustable Waveguide Line Extender". Some of
his most
recent patents, granted in 1998 for a "Broadband Tunable
Waveguide Filter Using Etched Septum Discontinuities.". Another
patent in 1999 for a "Miniaturized Power Divider Incorporating a
Lowpass Filter Structure".
Never bored, he has always had a variety of hobbies including COMPUTERS,
billiards, building and racing slot cars, building his own boat,
COMPUTERS, riding motorcycles, flying planes, and COMPUTERS.
Bob has been married 36 years to Gail and together they have a blended
family of 7 children, his, hers and theirs! They enjoy
spending time with the grandkids, all 12 of them.
