The San Jose Metropolitan Band is
an official non-profit organization. The Band's operating
expenses include music purchases, rehearsal hall rental, insurance,
conductor fees, marketing, etc. These expenses are offset by client-paid
concert fees, donations, grants, member dues and fund-raisers.
If you are a patron of the arts and
would like to help support your local community band financially,

The San Jose Metropolitan
Band is a California non-profit public benefit corporation with
both IRS and Franchise Tax Board exemption rulings. The corporation's
fiscal year is September 1 through August 31.
The Band has been
determined to be exempt from Federal income tax under section
501(a) of the Internal Revenue Code as an organization as described
in section 501(c)(3). The Band is classified as a publicly supported
organization as described in section 509(a)(2). Our organization's
Federal Employer Identification Number is 77-0241187. Incorporated
September 21, 1990.
Donors may deduct
contributions to the Band as provided in section 170 of the Code.
Bequests, legacies, devises, transfers, or gifts to the Band or
for its use are deductible for Federal estate and gift tax purposes
if they meet the applicable provisions of sections 2055, 2106,
and 2522 of the Code.
